E-mail addresses

Guess what I’m doing right now? Writing the next Ceili “smash?” Practicing scales? Brushing my teeth? Nope. I am sending postcards to people whose e-mail addresses have disappeared. Do you know how many change their e-addies without giving us a fresh one? (Maybe there’s a not-so-subtle message in this for us?) I’ve worked probably 12 hours on this project and I have 8 hours to go. Do me a flavor and PLEASE let us know when you switch from AOL to HOTMAIL or whatever it is you’re going to do. How am I supposed to write all those “smashes” (you’re entitled to laugh) when I’m doing unnecessary secretarial work? I ask you, how?

Okay, enough complaining. Going to play “Thanks” and “Everything Good is You” this afternoon at a celebration for a couple of friends married 40 years today. Just played these two songs at my nephew Greg’s wedding 2 weeks ago, they work for that purpose. DJ at the wedding played “Thanks” and said he wanted to buy it to use at future weddings.

Our beloved New York Yankees won the ALDS yesterday, beating Minnesota who are a great team. I know, it’s not fair that our payroll is 3 times theirs. I am a Yankee fan, everything other than that is immaterial for me. Buddy likewise is a major fan, sees lots of games in person. Thrilled about our new friend Jamey Carroll, who plays for the Montreal Expos- excuse me, the Washington Senators- and likes that crazy Ceili sound. A photo of me & Jamey in Montreal stadium will go up on site if I ever get the film developed- first I have to use up the rest of the film. I had a lovely trip tto Montreal, what a beautiful city, so very European yet handy-by for northeast folk.

Very excited about my trip to Calgary to see my friends Denis & Wendy Grady and do miscellaneous gigs (solo, duo with Buddy, band) and seminars and speaking opportunities. Will be there nearly 2 weeks, Denis has me running and gunning and I can’t wait to come home all worn out like last time. Some beautiful folks up there to go along with the beautiful country. God Done Good! Speaking of which, we will have Ceili Rain – God Done Good t-shirts very soon, that’ll be grand.

Much love always, see you soon I hope!
