A face-lift for Ceili Rain!

Sunday, September 30th, 2007

Well (obviously) if you are a “previous” Ceili Rain fan (we don’t like to say “old”) and you are here you’ll have noticed our brand new web design. If you are a NEW Ceili Rain fan…then “welcome” to the new and improved Ceili Rain website. Our wonderful partners at Balance Studios keep this train rolling for us even though their clients take them all over the world! Anyway…according to the Balance folks…

“an evolution in architecture was a logical progression for Ceili Rain’s Web presence. Built entirely with “Web 2.0″ technologies, this new site is easy to maintain and modify — much of it by Ceili Rain themselves via a content management system (CMS) interface. Like the band itself, the visual design presents a melding of old and new; Celtic style and cyberspace.”

Huh? We have no idea what that means but we think it looks AWESOME and we are so grateful for their hard work and talent. We’ll be adding some new photos, and other little dittys as we move forward and of course you’ll see our updated TOUR SCHEDULE. If there’s no date listed…YOU NEED TO BE CALLING US! Just ask ALL the great folks we visited in September…

September was certainly a memorable month for Ceili Rain thanks to all who hosted us for shows. It started off in a big way on the west coast. Modesto California: The entire St. Joseph’s community, Fr. Joe Illo, Gary Koblentz(more on him later in another blog), the volunteers and the entire community got together and put on an amazing event yet again. They packed the place for a second time. No easy feat.
Next we moved on up to Redding California, for yet another memorable show that we won’t soon forget. Big time kudos go to our new friends Mike Gasman, Mary D’Acquisto, St Joseph’s Parish, Mercy Medical Center and Shasta Anesthesia for putting us in a first class theatre (www.cascadetheatre.org) In addition, they really did an amazing job bringing the community in for the show. We made so many new friends and were able to expose our music to a whole new audience thanks to their hard work and leap of faith. We hope to be back again to continue this friendship.
Finally we ended our west coast run in Santa Rosa, with a spirited show in yet another fine venue with the faithful from the Diocese of Santa Rosa. Yet another new relationship started and much anticipation of future visits. Thanks to Stan Cordero and his gang at the Dio for having us in to celebrate with this dynamic community. See you guys at NCYC!
September continued in Franklin, TN with our intimate family from St. Philip church and youth group. What a super kick off to their new season. It felt like home to us all.
After TN we headed for the warm sunny skies of Tampa to Rock at the Rock and Roll retreat with the Diocese of Tampa! Big time thanks to Andy Gotsch who made it all happen for Ceili Rain to be introduced to this community. Thanks also to the entire St. Pauls community as well for a great intimate Sunday Storytellers type Ceili show. What a treat for the band and the the community to be able to share in a more subdued but insightful type of show.
Our big month of September ended up with 4 shows at our good friends at GCCC in Sewell NJ. We played 20 minute mini concerts during their 3 weekend services and then ended the weekend with a big outdoor concert and fireworks to celebrate their 25th Anniversary. Congats and thanks to Pastor Bruce and the whole GCCC family for making us feel like family. Talk about fireworks!! What a display.
