Dear Folks-
Have been spending lots of time playing harmonica lately! Am in costume onstage in a production of the Roger Miller Huck Finn musical called “Big River” and playing harmonica and guitar. This has been a terrific learning experience- but don’t worry, I won’t replace the whistle and accordion with the Harmonicats anytime soon! The music is country, gospel & bluegrass, so when I get in my car to leave the theatre I put in a Ceili CD and crank it up and sing along at the top of my lungs in a very Wayne’s World way! Also the only way I can keep my voice in shape, as I’m doing nine 3-hour shows a week with Big River. Have found three songs in the show that I can cheat and sing along with to keep my voice in the groove.
Will play the First Nite festival in Binghamton NY this Dec 31, two shows, 9:15 and 10:15PM. Really looking forward to a duo show with Buddy at a great new venue in Syracuse, NY called the Redhouse. Will be Saturday, Jan 15th at 8PM.
Also excited about new as-yet-unfinished DVD. Gretchen, Rick Cua, Cactus Moser, Lang Bliss, all the characters from the past, including our dear-departed Hunter and many more.
Hoping to see you on the trail sometime soon.
